Mobility — the ability to move freely from place to place — affords freedom and independence that most of us take for granted. For children struggling with mental and physical disabilities, mobility is often challenging, if not impossible, without the aid of special equipment.
Variety — The Children's Charity
has helped hundreds of children throughout Northern California to lead more fulfilling and productive lives. With the aid of their mobility equipment and assistive technology, Sunshine Coaches and Home Improvements, Variety's very special kids now can more easily, safely and independently participate in community programs and recreational activities enjoyed by other children that were unavailable to them without the enabling equipment Variety provided.

Variety the Children's Charity is dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world.
We do this by providing programs of last resort which help families' access medical care and related services that are not covered by insurance companies, hospitals, government agencies or community based organizations.
Variety’s Kids on the Go! Program helps children with disabilities, 12 years of age & younger, by providing them with enabling equipment, assistive technology and communication devices when this equipment cannot be obtained from any other source. Enabling equipment includes wheelchairs, van lifts, house ramps, adaptive car seats & strollers, specially-equipped bicycles & tricycles, stair lifts and other items. Home modifications (i.e. ramps, stair glides) will be done in cases where the house is owner-occupied or through written and notarized permission from a landlord.
Our program exists in order to help purchase enabling equipment (wheelchairs, van lifts, house ramps, adaptive car seats & strollers, specially-equipped bicycles & tricycles, stair lifts and other items) and assistive technology and communication devices necessary to increase a child’s access to and participation in the community. This program serves as a resource for families who are unable to obtain such equipment through providers such as insurance carriers, government agencies, school districts, etc.
