San Francisco, CA – Variety Children’s Charity Executive Director, Ayesha Williamson, was featured on the KRON 4 News shopping at Wal-Mart as she worked to quickly replace stolen school supplies in time for the 1st day of school at Colonial Acres Elementary School in Hayward.

The School which serves 750 K-5th grade students was robbed TWICE in the past weeks leaving classrooms without even the most essential supplies of paper notebooks, pencils, scissors, or dry erase markers, and left the afterschool program without sporting equipment or utensils in their healthy eating kitchen class.

Variety, with the support of our donors and community partners including the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland A’s, and Wal-Mart, was able to ensure that the beginning of the school year did not have to be postponed and that classes could start on schedule.
