San Francisco, CA – Hosted at the historic San Francisco City Club, Variety’s 2011 Gold Heart Gala was a huge success and drew in more than 300 supporters celebrating individuals and community partners who believe every child in the San Francisco Bay Area deserve to say “I CAN!”

This year’s gala took place on Saturday, August 27, 2011 and featured a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing and wonderful auction lots.

The Gold Heart Gala enables Variety continue to our mission to support disabled and disadvantaged children and their families in the Bay Area and throughout Northern California.  For over 60 years we have provided wheelchairs, adaptive bicycles, hospital support, and funeral expense support, among countless other resources, to Bay Area families.

A special thanks goes out to celebrity emcee Allen Martin of SF’s CBS 5.  Allen’s heart-warming story and personal connection to the partner agencies we serve was a memorable and moving experience for all who attended.
